How much does it cost to play?
The registration fee is $220 per player.
Can I get a discount?
A discount of $20 per person is offered for "team" sign ups.
Who are the coaches?
There are no designated coaches for any of the teams in the league. Each team may designate a team manager or captain to coordinate the team if they choose.
What are the skill or experience requirements?
Since there are no practices or coaches, it is recommended that each player have at least a full season of experience in field or box lacrosse and be comfortable with basic fundamentals.
What if I register and then find out I can't play, can I get a refund?
If a player is injured prior to the start date and cannot compete, we can issue a refund. If an injury occurs during the season and before the halfway point in the season, a credit towards a future season may be issued. A written request is required for a refund.
If we cancel a program for any reason, a full refund will be issued within 4 weeks.
The parent or guardian’s (electronic) signature on the registration and liability waiver form indicates an understanding of all registration and refund policies and agreement to abide by them.
What are the age requirements?
There are three divisions which include the Open Division, High School Division, and Middle School Division. The divisions are determined by grade level.
Open Division: Any player who has graduated from High School and above.
High School Division: 9th-12th grade
Middle School Division: 6th-8th grade
Is there full contact in the league?
Yes, Contact is permitted similar to field lacrosse. There is NO CROSS CHECKING allowed and NO BOARDING. These rules will be SEVERELY ENFORCED!
How long is the season?
The season is 8 weeks long. There are 7 regular season games with a final tournament (where many games will be played).
Do you provide equipment?
A numbered jersey and custom shorts will be provided on the first day with proof of paid registration. All other equipment must be provided by the player. We provide goalie equipment for players without proper box gear.
Can I use my field lacrosse equipment?
Yes. As a recommendation, you may want to purchase additional bicep pads and rib/kidney pads. Long defensive sticks are not allowed.
Whats included in my registration fee?
Your registration fee includes a jersey , custom shorts,
West Coast Lacrosse socks , general insurance, officials, and rink rental time.
Do I need my own insurance?
Yes. All players must be provide proof of current medical insurance to be eligible to play.
Are there practices?
No, there are no practices.
How do you divide the teams?
Players are assigned based on number of players registered, skill level, experience, and at the discretion of the league. Rosters will be announced two weeks prior to the start of the season in each respective location.
What if I can't make all the games?
All scheduling conflicts should be coordinated with your team, as well as informing West Coast Lacrosse via email or phone at info@westcoastlacrosse.com.
I can only make half the season, can I get prorate on the regisration fee?
No. Since space is limited and rink time paid in advance, registration fees must be paid in advance and in full.
Can I sign up my entire team?
If you wish to sign up multiple members of your existing team, please contact a league administrator.
I want to play goalie but I don't have the correct goalie equipment, do I need to buy my own?
We will have goalie equipment available for use however sizing cannot be guaranteed. It is recommendted goalies purchase their own equipment.
